Mission: Veteran Home Guardians provides essential local and in-home support services—like cleaning, transportation, errands, and companionship—to disabled, isolated, and homebound veterans in Central Ohio. Our services are delivered by fellow veterans, veteran family members, and veteran-operated businesses, ensuring a community of care built on shared respect and understanding.

Vision: We envision a veteran-focused community where no veteran is forgotten—where every veteran can live with dignity and independence, supported by a network of those who understand and honor their service.

Veterans: connecting through service

Our Impact So Far

Since our first Veteran visits in July, Veteran Home Guardians has been working to ensure that veterans in our area are not left isolated or forgotten. With the funding raised by the Live. Stay. Project and our friends at the Bourbon Real Talk Community, we’ve already made a measurable difference:

  • 600+ hours of paid service provided to veterans in Central Ohio. Every hour means a veteran in need received help — and another veteran earned meaningful wages by serving.

  • Weekly visits to three nursing homes — Bennington Glen, Centerburg Pointe, and Woodside Village in Mount Gilead — where more than 30 veterans now have regular companionship, conversation, and care.

  • Home and yard projects completed for veterans, restoring safety, dignity, and comfort in their homes.

  • Support beyond veterans: while awaiting our IRS nonprofit status, we’ve also extended services to elderly and disabled neighbors, tackling chores and gardening while keeping veterans and their family members employed.

  • Employment with purpose: we’ve been able to hire and support veterans who were between jobs, isolated, or even homeless, giving them the chance to serve again while stabilizing their own lives.

Why It Matters

Every $100 donated provides 4 hours of direct support — whether that’s companionship at a nursing home, cleaning up a veteran’s yard, or helping a disabled veteran with household tasks.

Your generosity doesn’t just fund projects. It gives dignity, creates connection, and ensures veterans are still serving — together.
